Electronic cigarettes become more and more demanded lately. As they become an integral part of our everyday life, we may ask: what is actually an electronic cigarette? An electronic cigarette (abbreviated also as e-cig or e-cigarette), personal vaporizer (PV) or electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) is a battery-powered vaporizer which provides tobacco smoking by producing an aerosol that resembles smoke.
In other words, electronic cigarette has qualities or features similar to an ordinary, so well-known cigarette. Generally, this device (we may call it so) uses a heating component known as an atomizer, which vaporizes a liquid solution known as e-liquid. E-liquids usually consist of a combination of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, nicotine, and flavorings, while others release a flavored vapor without nicotine content. In surveys of lay users, the most preferred e-liquids had a nicotine content of 18 mg/ml. We must admit that the advantages and disadvantages of electronic cigarette use are still uncertain.
However, investigations suggest e-cigarettes may be safer than smoking tobacco products, and possibly as safe as other nicotine replacement items. E-cigarette vapor contains flavors, aroma transporters, glycerol, propylene glycol, nicotine, known carcinogens, heavy metals, ultrafine particles, and other chemicals, but the amount of contaminants are too low to indicate health concerns.
E-cigarettes don’t burn like classic cigarettes, they do not produce smoke, but non-smoking onlookers are exposed to any exhaled vapor. E-cigarette aerosol has, nevertheless, remarkably fewer toxicants than cigarette smoke and is likely to constitute less harm to users or onlookers. There were not confirmed complaints of less bothersome adverse effects of throat and mouth inflammation, vomiting and nausea. It is up to everyone to choose what the best for smoking is! The main thing is to think of the pleasure of smoking, which is helpful for such sorts of doubts.
